Understand how the Internet is organized

When a digital topic becomes unclear, knowing what to check and where to turn is often more helpful than remembering complicated vocabulary.

Guidance

Start from the observed fact, not from the vocabulary

The same problem may arise from a registrar, a host, a platform, an authority or a technical service provider. The good start is to name the fact: misleading domain, fraudulent content, personal data, incident or dispute.

If the subject is a domain nameNote the complete domain, its extension, the page displayed and the use that poses a problem.
If the subject is a fraudulent siteDo not enter anything, pay nothing, keep the evidence and direct the file to appropriate reporting.
If the subject concerns dataIdentify what data is requested, why, by whom and where the privacy policy explains it.
